Our optional innerspring models have an innerspring coil core, which is encapsulated on all sides, top, and bottom with foam, creating a sandwich-like construction.
However, this fabric will eventually wear. If you would like your crib mattress to appear 'as new' years after initial purchase, you will want to use a mattress cover.
If you are purchasing a Simplicity or an Air product, please note that these mattresses contain no water-proofing of any kind. If you do not want something to soak in, please cover this mattress with a product of your choice--or with our water-resist covers made specially for these items.
Please do not use diaper wipes or household cleaning wipes to clean the mattress. They are convenient, but, over time, they will break down the fabric surface leaving your mattress looking worn.

To determine which side is which, look at the tag on the end of the mattress. On the label, one side says "infant side" and has an arrow pointing to the surface. This is the Extra Firm side. The other side of the label will say "toddler side" and indicates the plush side.
The first night my son slept on the Moonlight Slumber mattress he slept for 12 hours. And now that he has outgrown his toddler bed I am purchasing a Moonlight Slumber twin size for him and passing down the Moonlight Slumber crib mattress (that still looks as good as the day we got it!) to his new baby brother.
